Our Place

In the heart of the former Devon Village of the year sits The Old Rectory Cottages. Set between the thatched village pub and Saxon church, this is the perfect setting for six luxurious self-catering holiday cottages, furnished to provide you modern stylish holiday accommodation. The cottages are set in grounds of the former Grade II rectory which dates from medieval times at its oldest parts with Tudor through to Georgian extensions. The village of Kings Nympton nestles into the heart of the North Devon countryside with a location that affords the opportunity to explore Exmoor and Dartmoor and the North and South beaches and coastlines.

Swimming Pool

The heated swimming pool at the Old Rectory Cottage is available from late March through to early November.  It is covered in, what we call, The Greenhouse!  If the weather is inclement we keep the sides down and the internal room temperature up but on sunny, warm days we can lift the sides to give us an indoor/outdoor pool. We currently run a rota whereby you can book private slots or share your time with other cottages if you wish.

Grounds

Relax amidst the peace and calm. Unwind with a picnic in the four acres of landscaped gardens or enjoy the afternoon in our wonderfully warm swimming pool with sun terrace overlooking the patchwork of fields and rural views. Join the variety of wild ducks who reside on the two ponds for a meander through the grounds and the woodlands walk or make use of the outdoor table tennis, football table and other games or just enjoy a kick about.

Climbing Tower & Sand Pit

The Old Rectory Cottages are very child-friendly. The play area is ideal for little ones, with sandpit and climbing tower with slide. We have inflatable’s and children’s floats for the swimming pool as well a selection of outdoor games and swing to enjoy in the garden.
